Welcome to the Genesee Park Food Pantry. We believe that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Our mission is to provide a place of support and warmth for our neighbors, offering essentials with a spirit of compassion and respect.
Our Services
We are honored to provide the following at no cost to our community members:
- Nutritious Food: Fresh produce, breads, canned goods, rice, pasta, bakery items, various proteins, and much more!
- Clothing: Gently used apparel to keep you and your family comfortable.
- A Warm Welcome: A safe environment where every visitor is treated with dignity.
Pantry Hours
We are open twice a week to serve you:
- Thursdays: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Sundays: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
NOTE: No prior registration is required to be served. Hours may be affected due to holidays that fall on these days.
Community Days
Beyond our weekly pantry hours, we host four Community Days each year. These special events are designed to bring neighbors together for:
- Fellowship and conversation
- Strengthening community bonds
- Shared prayer and spiritual encouragement
Service and Community Reach
- Weekly Impact: Serves approximately 140+ community members every week.
- Monthly Reach: Supports an average of 800 individuals per month.
- Broader Support: Beyond individual visitors, the pantry assists homeless outreach ministries, shelters, sister churches, and other local ministries.
- Annual Giving: Hosts 4 Community Days each year, distributing over 100 backpacks and coats to those in need.
Food Distribution and Logistics
- Total Volume: Distributed 24 tons of food throughout 2025.
- Supply Chain: Partners with 5 different vendors and distributors to source food.
- Operating Hours: Open for distribution 2 days per week, with 4 hours spent actively serving the community during those days.
Our Diverse Community
- Language Inclusivity: Serves a diverse population speaking 5 or more languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Creole, Somali, and Hindi.
- Global Representation: Welcomes people from many different countries.
Driven by Volunteers and Faith
- Dedicated Team: Powered by 22 volunteers who each contribute at least 6 hours a week.
Our Inspiration
Our volunteers are driven by the heart of Matthew 25:35–40. We strive to live out the call to serve others with genuine love, believing that every bag of groceries and every conversation is an opportunity to share God’s grace.
